Launch Legacy Consulting, LLC is a unique fundraising solution for small to mid-sized nonprofits that desire to build a legacy giving program. Many nonprofit leaders know that we are experiencing the greatest wealth transfer in history and they want their organization to be a part of it, but they do not have the training or experience to build a planned giving program. Our firm’s concept was created when several non-profit leaders came to me with a simple request: help us build out a legacy giving program for our nonprofit.

Several observations became apparent. First, small to mid-sized nonprofits with budgets between $1-10 million find it cost prohibitive to hire a fulltime fundraising professional with planned giving experience. Second, many reputable planned giving consulting firms are charging nearly six figures annually for their services. And third, while planned giving trainings and seminars can be helpful, ultimately what the nonprofits need is someone “on their team” working beside them and their boards, having conversations with donors, handling planned giving questions, building out a strong program, and marketing the concepts to donors. These observations—and a sincere desire to help nonprofit leaders and their donors—provided the spark for what is now Launch Legacy Consulting, LLC.

How We Work

We think it’s most effective to work with a limited number of select nonprofits at a time. The shared-cost concept keeps services affordable while providing the planned giving guidance and support needed for nonprofits to experience success. We are personally invested in your success, and working with a small number of nonprofits allows us to work one-on-one with the CEO, Board and staff to provide personalized, collaborative service. Depending on the level of service selected, this may include visits to meet with donors, in-person Board or staff trainings, phone support to answer planned giving questions from donors and staff, Zoom trainings, donor-visit coaching, assistance in building out a marketing plan and more. CEO - Consultant

Jay Duggan is the founder and CEO of Launch Legacy Consulting, LLC. He has over twenty-six years’ professional experience, sixteen in the financial services industry as a financial/insurance advisor for individuals, families, businesses, nonprofits and school systems. For the past ten years Jay has worked with several large nonprofits including the University of Georgia, Operation Blessing and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America as both a frontline fundraiser and consultant in major gifts and planned giving. Jay recently furthered his specialization in planned giving through earning the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® from the American College of Financial Services.

Jay prides himself in cultivating authentic relationships with donors and working with them in such a way that they experience the joy of giving. Throughout his career he has enjoyed mentoring and training others as a component of his work. He has taught one-on-one with major gift officers, planned giving officers, nonprofit CEOs, and Board members, and led trainings on a statewide, regional, and national basis.

Jay has been married for twenty-eight years to his wife Cherie, who also works in philanthropy as a Senior Director of Principal Gifts for the University of Georgia. They have five children, three of whom were adopted from Ethiopia. Their shared interests include traveling, National Parks, the Bay View Association, Walt Disney World, and hiking.


Consultant Kelley Tetzlaff has a deep background in financial services, with sixteen years’ of experience in the banking, investment and insurance industries and over twenty years’ of service in planned giving for both large national charities and small nonprofits.

Kelley has served the charitable world as a frontline fundraiser and gift planner, as well as a trainer, coach and consultant with nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers to help organizations establish effective major gift, planned gift and endowment programs.

Kelley has been a member of the Planned Giving Round Table of Arizona since 2002 serving on the Board of Directors and as a past president. He is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Kingdom Financial Advisors, Advisors in Philanthropy and a speaker at charitable giving conferences.

Kelley’s most important accomplishments are that he is a husband, a father of four and a grandparent to eleven grandchildren!
